The Czerny tenaculum forcep is a specialized surgical instrument used primarily in obstetrics and gynecology to grasp, hold, and mobilize the cervix, uterus, and fallopian tubes during surgical procedures. It features a robust four-pronged design that provides exceptional gripping security for manipulating heavy internal organs during hysterectomies, oophorectomies, cervical tear repairs, and other gynecological procedures. The forceps is named after Vincenz Czerny (1842–1916), a pioneer of cancer surgery who performed the first vaginal hysterectomy for cancer in 1879 and founded the field of surgical oncology
